The methodic meeting of music therapists in Ústí nad Orlicí on the weekend of 9-11 February gave the participants the opportunity to get acquainted with the mobile music therapy laboratory and to try out how it can be used in practice.
On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the Methodological Seminar of Holistic Music Therapy took place in the Special Primary School, Kindergarten and Practical School Ústí nad Orlicí. Music therapists from all over the country (Kladno, Prague, Olomouc, Ostrava, Nový Jičín, Luhačovice, Zlín…) came to our school. These were music therapists working in special and mainstream education, primary art schools, health care, social services, etc.
Music therapy musical instruments, playing techniques and methodology of use in working with children in our school were introduced.
Practical demonstrations of holistic music therapy techniques – relaxation, music therapy fairy tale, music therapy orchestra, drumming, playing Tibetan bowls, endgames, gongs, udu, percussion and other instruments, use of resonance cradle.
An important and necessary part of the program was the mutual sharing of experiences, methodological support and professional discussion.
The programme included the presentation of the Music Therapy Laboratory, which was acquired with the support of Norwegian Funds and is used to present holistic music therapy to the public. During the programme, participants had the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of using the laboratory for their work and promotion.
From the final reflections of the participants of the Methodological Seminar on Holistic Music Therapy, it is evident that the seminar was beneficial and inspiring.
